Question of the day:

"Did you obtain this (degree) through part-time studies and/or distant learning?"
- Found on the Singapore Tourism Board job application form

Ouch!

Yep ouch too. But on the bright side, we're still able to perform even though we didn't study on the actual campuses. So that means we're even better? Hmm.

But majority of society does not share that perspecctive.

Yep, that unfortunately doesn't overcome the perception that distance learning are "paid for" and not earned through hard work and diligence..i've been to a few interviews where interviewers look really enthusiastic initially but then when they hear "distance learning", you can see that enthusiasm wavering and replaced by a certain fakeness..for goodness' sake, most of us paid for our education with our own money, study after work, endure fatigue and the crappy local tutors and have to pass examinations exactly the same as the on-campus students..does it really make our degree less worthy?

It's a sad sad situation but oh well, at the end of the day, complaining get us nowhere..just have to grit our teeth and trudge on..
